As I’m sure you’re all aware, we are talking with DTP about the contracted bus replacement regimes embedded in your regional and rural route, school and V/Line contracts.
At this point, we advise operators to hold off on placing orders for new diesel buses that are scheduled to be replaced in the 26 & 27 fiscal year’s until we’ve landed on an agreed way forward with DTP. For those that have already ordered buses for these periods, we also advise not cancelling such orders.
BAV doesn’t have access to the micro data associated with contracted bus replacements (i.e., exactly who is scheduled to have a replacement, what sort of replacement is due, when it’s due to be replaced by etc.) We only have access to the high level or macro data. Hence, to progress our negotiations with DTP and ultimately agree on a reliable set of numbers, we now ask that all members that have contracted bus replacements in the 2026 and 2027 fiscal years to provide us with the following information a.s.a.p.
